Isn't the Earth beautiful? Wait, dont answer that! It definatly looks beautiful, but is it actually anymore? Not so much... It's broken, it's sad, it's... I don't exactly know how to explain it. But honestly, nobody seems to really notice the earths natural beauty anymore, no one really takes the time to stop and really look at it. I do, however. For the past 3 years I have. I lie in the grass, or I sit on the steps, and I feel everything around me. I don't do this alot, though I really should, because it's the most relaxing feeling in the world. It's like I become a part of the wind, as if I am the wind.. When I breath in, it's like everything [the tree's,the grass,the plants] is just gently rocking with the wind.. and when I breath out, the winf blows harder, and it's like the wind is breathing within me, and I feel incredibly light, and all of a sudden there isn't a problem in the world that can hurt me, or affect me in any way. Anways, i'm just saying that I dont want that getaway to not be there anymore. It's important to me and it hurts to think that the waters that were once clear,blue and free of chemicals, are now unclear, green, chemical filled, and flooding with garbage. It's sad to know that the air that keeps us going is over-flowing with smoke, and disgusting chemicals that cause us health problems. There is this quote that goes 'In hopes of reaching the moon, men fail to see the flowers that blossem at their feet' Such a simple, yet meaningful quote.
People are so eager to proceed to the future, with technology that will do everything for them, that we never are able to see what we do have, and what we do not realize, is that we should enjoy it while we have it, because it's not going to be there long with what we're doing to destroy it. I know I said i'd be giving solutions intead of complaints, but i've been so busy lately, i've still been doing my part for the environment , though. I picked up yesterday morning a coffee cup, a mc.donalds cup, and a red bull can off the ground.. and last night, a beer bottle, and 2 cups. I've been thinking about other ways to spread awareness, but actually do something about it at the same time... Maybe a petition, fliers for the website, maybe even setting up a protest in front of some sort of governmental building with the people who signed the petition... It will take alot but I am determined to keep the world around for another jundred centuries big grin

Quick Update.
Sorry! I did not have time to write any of the details on what we can do for the environment :-/ However, this morning, I picked up a coffee cup and a tim hortons paper bag off the ground. Just wanted to let you know I still care! hehe =]
So yeah,
Keep on cleaning and preventing or whatever it is that your doing thats good for the environment...
It is time for me to head off to bed, I have school tomorrow morning..

The problems and my take on them : May/19th/2009
Hey Everyone!
So this is my first post on this blog. I have learned soo much about the environment in the past month or two. It's amazing how much there is that we can do to help the environment, but nothing ever seems to get done. There is a famous cree prophecy that says this: "only after the last tree has been cut down, Only after the last fish has been caught, Only after the last river has been poisoned, only then will we find money cannot be eaten" This prophecy is nothing but true. People just do not stop.. Everything is all about money. Nobody cares about what happens to the ecosystem, or the ozone layer, or where all these pollutants are doing.. all people care about is weather or not they get their money. But basically what that prophecy means is that we're killing everything around us, and soon there will be nothing left to kill... and when that happens and all we're left with is the money... then what? We can't eat it, we can't make houses of it, we can't sleep in it, we can't drink it... we can't do anything with that money when there's nothing left, can we?
Honestly, it's sickening how selfish people can be.. no, not how slefish they can be, how slefish they ARE. I mean, life is precioius, and should be lived in a way that you can enjoy it.. and not have to worry that every year the world just might come to an end because of the stupid greediness of humans. There is only one world that we know of that humans can survive on, off of it's natural resources. But these natural resources are becoming more useless every day that we drive a car, or use a cell phone, or throw a wrapper on the ground right next to the very purposeful garbage can.
There are enough ways that we can stop the global warming and still have most of the things that we have... all it takes in just not to be lazy.. it really isnt that hard and is quite simple.. Now, right now my mind is sort of blurry and dizzy because im sort of tired and I had coffee and i'm just a little edgy, so I can't exactly remember the sollutions that I know and hav e learned about.. I write that because I dont want anyone to think im just talk and basically just complaining and giving no sollutions. Anyways, I am doing my part for the environment.. When I see garbage on the ground, i pick it up.. because it will not kill me to bend over and pick it up.. however, it will kill me (suggestivly in 2012, perhaps) if i do not. So, I am doing what i can and so should you. If your reading this blog you obviously care about the environment, so do what you can! I will write tomorrow the sollutions to the problems I have written today.. Check tomorrow for a new post!
